Grand Central Market Foodie Guide
You've probably seen buckets of this ice cream at your grocery store or maybe you haven't. If you're like me, you just don't buy ice cream from grocery stores. Yeah, I know, crazy. If you happen to find your self near a McConell's do yourself a favor and try it, I swear it's magical. There's also no reason for you not to try it while at the Grand Central Market. They have lots of delicious rich flavors and will let you try all of them. My favorite flavor is Churros Con Leche.
I've been to the Grand Central Market a handful and never having an interest in trying The Horse Thief BBQ. Why? I don't know, it just never appealed to me. Until I heard someone, well I eavesdropped on a conversation between two guys, and I just had to see for myself. This place is known for their BBQ, they also have chicken, a fried chicken plate and fried chicken sandwich. I love beef but there's something about fried chicken that makes my heart light up. For those who don't like fried chicken, don't worry, they have BBQ chicken too. This is the fried chicken plate which came with a biscuit, cornbread, and cole slaw. I seriously loved the cornbread, it was the first thing I gladly inhaled while working on the chicken which was just as good.
This joint is not suitable for vegetarians. No, seriously.
I really don't think there's much to say about EggSlut that hasn't been said already. I always eat here when I visit, it's an obligation. When I use to eat bacon, once upon a time; I used to order the Bacon egg cheese. I then, tried the Gaucho, which is tri-tip steak, eggs, and chimichurri sauce. That was it for me, I had found my true calling. Fast forward May 2016, I'm on a no meat cleanse, so I try the Fairfax. This sandwich only has scrambled eggs, onions and cheddar cheese and goodness gracious that sauce. And by that sauce, I mean sriracha mayo. I actually forgot about all the other sandwiches while inhaling the Fairfax. You can't tell me nothing. Oh, and did I also mention that all these delicious creations come on a Brioche bun? YAS QUEEN.
I know, I know, after you just read all that stuff the last thing you're thinking about is a salad. But hold on, this wasn't just any salad. Actually, it was just a salad, a damn good salad. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and a little spicy which gave it more flavor and grilled into perfection. Plus, I love anything with arugula and red cabbage. If you're on a diet, trying to impress your date or just not that hungry, I would try Bombo, they also have great seafood.
