LA's Arts District

When I moved to Los Angeles January 2015 from Harlem, DTLA was my favorite, the Arts District in particular. I think it might have to do with the fact that it almost resembles New York in way.

At first glance, the Arts District seems abandoned, but in actual it's one of LA's trendiest/artsiest neighborhood. This neighborhood has the coolest galleries, boutiques, restaurant and bars. I dare you to find better a LA neighborhood with better street style, no wonder FIDM is around the block. It's one of the less touristy places, which makes nice and relaxing. Below, I will show you some of my favorite places in the district.

Blactop Coffee LA

But first, Coffee

Blacktop is a small cool shop with an awesome outdoor sitting area with wooden benches, tree stumps, and lots of trees providing enough shade for those cruel summers, plus it's Instagram worthy. Aside from excellent coffee, Blacktop is also known for their avocado toast and delicious pastries. Also, make sure you browse the cute little shop next door while waiting. There are other great coffee shops in the Arts DIstrict like Groundworks, and the SF's Blue Bottle.

Zinc Cafe & Market

Vegetarian or not, Zinc Cafe is a great spot for lunch. This cafe has a market inside, great patio and a cool bar, Bar Mateo. They have everything from breakfast burritos, to avocado toast, but the real winne was this mushroom dijon burger and Thai Salad.

The Springs

You just had lunch, and now need some fresh juice or kombucha, The Springs is your answer. This raw vegan joint has food, juice, wellness, and yoga, you can literally spend the whole day here, they have plenty of sitting inluding outside. I came here for their house made kombucha on tap.

The Pie Hole

Pie lover's paradise. Strawberry lavender, green tea, Mexican chocolate, are just some of the sweet favors they have, as well as savory options such as mac 'n' cheese, and chicken 'n' cornbread, my favorite is the Earl Grey Tea pie, It's delicious. While you enjoy your pie with tea or coffee, I recommend sitting outside and people watch. The Pie Hole currently has 3 locations with Hollywood opening up soon.
